Turner’s success on home soil saw him join event one winner Vinnie Calabrese on the 2025/26 Q Tour Asia-Pacific roll of honour with three events remaining during the campaign.

n

Held in New Zealand’s second-largest city, the event took place on 11-13 July and saw 56 players from five countries competing for the Q Tour crown.

n

Group stage wins against Paul Whapshott and Graham Henderson were enough for Turner to reach the knockout stages where he then overcame Dale Shannon (3-1), Lawrence Millington (4-0) and Peter DeGroot (4-1) to book his place in the semi-finals in impressive fashion.

n

Facing Danny Ryan in the last four, Turner raced into a 4-0 lead in the best-of-nine frame contest and despite a brief rally from his fellow countryman he was able to take the seventh frame with a break of 53 to make it to the title match.

n

Canovan awaited in the final and the cueists shared the opening two frames before Turner moved ahead with a contribution of 61 in the third.

n

From there, it was one-way traffic and further efforts of 33 and 35 helped Turner to a 5-1 victory to secure the first Q Tour title of his career.
