The success saw Calabrese continue his dominance of the region by claiming his seventh out of nine Q Tour titles to have been staged in the region since the series began in 2023.

The first of five events held as part of the Asia-Pacific series took place on 27-29 June in Australia and saw 41 cueists competing for the crown.

Calabrese, who had finished at the summit of the Asia-Pacific ranking list for the previous two campaigns, arrived as a strong favourite and secured a trio of successive whitewash wins against Jeremy Giannini, Bayden Dewey and David Wright to set up a semi-final meeting with Hassan Kerde.
n
Kerde, a former two-time Q Tour event finalist who made his debut at the Crucible Theatre earlier this year in the World Seniors Snooker Championship, took the opening frame against the in-form Calabrese.
n
From there, however, the 37-year-old showed his ability to fire in breaks of 56, 56, 98 and 63 en route to a 4-2 victory.
n
Calabrese faced Asif in the final after he had battled through a deciding frame against Shaun Dalitz in the last four.
n
Asif proved no match for the former professional, however, who set the tone with a contribution of 98 in the opener before following this up with breaks of 79 and 84 to complete a 5-0 title match victory.
